"Lace Eggs" How - To


 
  
Materials:

Paper Mache Eggs
Old Town Paints - Chalk Style Finish Paints - Tickled Pink, Pink, Green Apple, Pistachio, Cottage White and Clear Finish
Assorted Old Lace Scraps
Paint Brushes & Scissors
Double Sided Tape
Instructions:
Remove labels from Paper Mache Eggs
Paint Eggs with Chalk Style Finish Paints.  Let Dry
Cut Lace Scraps to fit around eggs
Paint the Lace decoratively.  Let Dry.
Using Double Sided Tape, attach Painted Lace to Painted Eggs
Completely Paint Lace covered Eggs with Clear Finish.  Let Dry.

LOVE LAMP- How TO



Materials:
Lamp Shade & Base
Old Town Paints - Chalk Style Finish - Antique White, Courtyard, Avocado, Barn Red, Clear Matte Finish
Sharpie Pen - Copper
LOVE Stencil
Double Sided Tape
1" Wooden Heart
Old Key

Instructions:
Paint Lamp Base with Antique White Paint - Let Dry
Paint some of the detail on the Lamp with Courtyard Paint
Mix Courtyard & Avocado Paints to match the color in the Lampshade detail
Paint and Let dry
Add Barn Red Paint to the detail on Lamp Base and small Wooden Heart - Let dry
Seal with Clear Matte Finish - Let dry
Apply Double Sided Tape to the back side of the Stencil
Center in place and stick to the Lamp Shade
Using a small brush, or stencil brush and paint to the cut outs of the stencil being                                            careful not to work the paint under the stencil edges - Let dry
Add Sharpie Pen detail on Lamp Base
Add shade to the Lamp Base & attach Heart and Key

"HOW TO" Little Roses




Materials:
  • Sheer Fabric Scraps
  • Sheer Green Ribbon
  • Lit Candle
  • Tweezers
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun

Instructions:
1.  Cut assorted circles from Sheer Fabric Scraps to measure 1" - 2" each
2.  Light Candle
3.  Pick up a Fabric circle in the center with the tweezers
4.  Hold above the flame so that it will start to melt and curl up on the edges
     Move it slowly so that all edges move across the flame
5.  Choose the pieces that you want to go together in each flower
6.  Starting with the largest circle on the bottom, with the edges curling up.  Use the Hot          Glue Gun - and glue together 3 - 5 pieces graduating to the smallest in the center
7.  Glue a green leaf made from the ribbon to the bottom
​8.  Attach to the craft of your choice.

Love Light Mason Jar Votives


Materials:
Clear Mason Jars
Old Town Paints - Chalk Style Finishes
Super Red, Hot Pink, Tickled Pink
Clear Matte Finish
Clear Contact Paper
Xacto Knife 
Assorted Metallic Sharpie Pens

Instructions:
    1.  Remove labels - clean Jar
    2.  Cut out a heart shape from the Contact Paper - Peel off backing and
         stick to front of Jar
    3.  Paint each Jar with 2 coats of Paint - Let dry
    4.  Using Xacto Knife, gently cut a line down the front of the painted heart
    5.  Peel the heart from the Jar
    6.  Outline the heart opening with a Metallic Sharpie Pen - Let dry
    7.  Embellish rim of Jar

Spring Song Guitar



Materials:
  • Old Guitar
  • Wax Brush & Paint Brush
  • Clean Rag
  • ​Old Town Paints - Chalk Style Finish Paint (we used Spring Song)
  • Old Town Paints - Waxes - Clear and Dark
  • New Guitar Strings

Instructions: 
  1. Remove old guitar strings
  2. Wipe dust off guitar
  3. Paint with Old Town Paints - Chalk Style Finish, color of your choice.  Let dry.
  4. Rub on Clear Wax on the top of the guitar.  Let dry, then buff to a light shine.
  5. Brush on Dark Wax on the sides and back of the guitar.  Let dry, then buff to a light shine.
  6. Brush on Dark Wax on the underside of the neck and the tuner area.  Wait till dry and then buff to a light shine.
  7. Should be kept free of moisture and heavy use for a week.
  8. Restring the guitar and play a little "Spring Song"!

L O V E Letters "How - To"



Materials:
Paper Mache Letters L O V E
Old Town Paints - Chalk Style Finishes​                                                  Super Red, Strawberry, Hot Pink, Pink, Tickled Pink
Clear Satin Finish
Pencil, Ruler Rag​
Instructions:
1.  Remove labels from Paper Mache Letters
2.  Line up Letters with the L & O next to each other, and the V & E next to each other
3.  Find the natural break in the shape of the Letter and draw a straight line, using the ruler      as a guide, across the two letters at a time.  Depending on the shape and style of the            letters will determine where you choose to draw your lines.
4.  Painting in an "Ombre" style, paint the darkest color first at the bottoms of the V & E 
5.  Working your way up the letters, staying in the spaces of the penciled guidelines,   
     continue to paint working your way to the top of the L & O
6.  Mix 3 tsp. of Clear Satin Finish with 1 tsp. Hot Pink Chalk Style Finish.  Paint over the Pink section of          the L & O.  Rub with rag to get the distressed look you like and let dry
7.  Paint over all of the letters with Clear Satin Finish.  Let dry.

Upscale Lampshade- HOW TO

Upscale Lampshade- HOW TO


Materials:
  • Old metal frame lampshade
  • White cotton Fabric, Floral print fabric
  • Old Town Paints - Chalk Style Finish in Daffodil & Tangerine - Clear Satin Finish
  • Iron, Sharp Scissors, Needle and Thread, Bowl for Water & Paint

Instructions:
  1. Remove old Fabric from lampshade to expose the metal frame.
  2. Tear White Fabric into 2" wide strips, the length of the fabric.
  3. Tie Fabric Strips onto a hanger
  4. Gather up the ends of the Fabric and put into a bowl that you have well mixed 1 C. water with 2 Tbs. Daffodil Paint.  Allow Fabric to soak up mixture until it is the color that you desire.  Squeeze excess water out and let day.  Repeat on the other side with 1 C. water with 2 Tbs. Tangerine Paint.  Let dry.  (Press fabric if necessary)
  5. Wrap both the top and bottom of the frame with the Fabric strips securing at the end by knotting and tucking ends back in.
  6. Secure a new strip at the top corner.  Continue weaving Fabric horizontally around the frame, wrapping around the corners as you go.  About 2 inches before you reach the end connect with another piece of fabric by knotting and folding to secure the loose ends in as you continue to weave.
  7. Iron Floral Fabric flat.
  8. Using Sharp Scissors cut out designs.  Paint with Clear Satin Finish.  Let dry.  (If you choose, you can just paint the complete piece of fabric and then cut out the shapes).
  9. Attach the floral cut outs to the bottom of the woven lamp shade using needle and thread.
  10. We painted the lamp base to match the colors of the Fabric flowers, distressed with sandpaper and sealed with Clear Satin Finish and let it dry.
  11. Assemble when complete.
